Four girls lean on each other panting and smiling with joy. Other track team members rush up to the girls, cheering with joy. The girls had won the 4×400 and with that, the JV girls track season was over.

After the meet, the team celebrated with ice cream and a recognition of the laudable accomplishments from the meet. Paige Kuepker ’17 threw a personal record in discus and Anna Cassidy ’19 finally reached her 29 foot mark in shot-put. Olivia Parrott ’16 and Izzy Shutt ’16 managed to run three races in a row, while still managing to win the 4×400.

“Our JV team this year had an outstanding season,” Coach Joe Graf said. “We had a lot of great new girls that tried new things, learned new things about their bodies.

Off-season has now started for the athletes with multiple camps to attend during the winter and strength and conditioning classes coming in the fall.

“We are hoping [that] with a lot of off season hard work, lifting weights and doing some off season running in the winter preparing for the next season we will see some big gains,” Graf said. “So very proud of a lot of our JV athletes and their efforts this year.”
