Teacher Appreciation Column: Mrs. Dickson

Teacher Appreciation Column: Mrs. Dickson

Claire Edwards, Reporter

What makes Mrs. Dickson special to me is her sense of humor, and her ability to be nice while being strict about school rules. She can be strict, funny, and kind at the same time. When I am in her class I feel happy to be around her because I feel safe and able to focus. It’s hard to focus in some classes because sometimes students are too loud and use their phones, but people behave in Mrs. Dickson’s room. I appreciate her kindness, her class management skills, and most of all the good atmosphere that I feel in her class.

Mrs. Dickson is one of the kindest teachers I have ever met. Every day when I get in her classroom, I see her greeting students at the door by smiling and saying hi. It looks like she cares about how our day has been going. She always asks questions about our weekends and tells us stories about her family. She is so kind that she tries to build a connection with her students.

It is very hard to focus in some classes because some students are noisy. Her class management skills are really good. She has a box in her classroom called “the baby daycare” to keep phones that she sees are being used, and the students respect that.

One of the reasons why I feel safe in Mrs. Dickson’s room is because it’s easy to focus. Students talk about work in her class instead of subjects that are off-topic. Everyday Mrs. Dickson also makes sure her class is not too loud, so that it’s much easier for people to study. I am writing this letter about Mrs. Dickson because it is Teacher Appreciation Week, and I appreciate her a lot. She is a good teacher because she is kind and she follows the rules. She is good at World History and teaches the class a lot about the subject. I have learned a lot in her class and I like to learn. She deserves recognition for her good job as a teacher.
