After City High defeated West High in the Battle of the Boot a series of events including the vandalism West’s locker room, the absence of handshaking after the game, and an abusive Twitter account called @WestHigh2 or CityHighSucks have students at both schools still talking.
The Twitter account @WestHigh2 made abusive comments that City High students should die and made racist, and other offensive statements.
“In a sense it is a new form of cyber-bullying, it’s targeting our school as a whole,” Div Tosingilo ‘14 said.
The people or person behind the account don’t agree according to their Tweets. They responded on Twitter by citing their First Amendment rights and that they are only “tweeting opinions about City High”.
“I think someone made the account because they want to take their anger out but they don’t want to put their name behind it,” Kole Butler ‘14 said.
Not only have City High students been responding to @WestHigh2 and telling them how they feel about their tweets and how they disagree with them, but West High students have jumped in too.
“@WestHigh2 You’re an embarrassment to West High and all of the good people who are associated with it. Find something productive to do,” Olivia Mekies tweeted.
Currently @WestHigh2 hasn’t tweeted since October 15.
