This Sunday from 4-8 pm, the Little Hawk Club is having the 2010 Gear Sale in the gym. Shirts, shorts, sweats, pajamas, and clothes for little kids (to name just a few) will all be sold to help pay for City and Southeast athletic programs. All sizes will be available, including extra small and double-extra larges. When the rarer sizes run out, orders will be taken in order to serve everyone who comes.
“Those [orders] could come in by the end of next week, and definitely before winter break,” said Mr. Koepnick, a member of the club’s board of directors.
This sale is one of the largest fundraisers of the year.
“Every dime of profit goes into City High athletics,” Mr. Koepnick said.
The Little Hawk Club is a subsidiary of the Booster club which pays for jerseys, uniforms, and equipment, as well as travel expenses for sports teams. They also made contributions to the Bates Field renovation program going on this year. Last year the profits of the gear sale were greater than $10,000.
