The Little Hawks fell to the Xavier Saints on Friday night. They lost 69-61 at home, falling to 6-6 on the season. The Little Hawks scored first on a bucket by Emmanual Hooper ’15, but couldn’t carry that momentum through the rest of the game. It was 34-22 Xavier at the half, but the Little Hawks did play better in the second half, and were able to pull within seven. They still couldn’t pull out the victory down the stretch.  The Little Hawks don’t play again until next Friday, when they play at Dubuque Hempstead.

“Overall, I thought we played pretty well, the second quarter was our quarter where we struggled a little bit, and they got a thirteen point lead, but I think we outscored them in both the third and fourth quarter,” coach Don Showalter said after the game.

He says the team shot well at times, but needs to improve their free throw shooting, and be more consistent on defense.
