The University of Iowa Lecture Committee has proposed bringing JK Rowling to Iowa City.

The University of Iowa is initiating a letter writing campaign to help invite the “Harry Potter” writer to the University. Students in the ICCSD district can write a letter to the famous author, in a community effort to get Rowling to visit in the Spring of 2016.

“I think it would be a wonderful thing to bring [JK Rowling] to Iowa City,” City high librarian Jeff Morris said.

To help students can write a letters to JK Rowling personally and submit them to any ICCSD library. Students can also advertise through social media, or have a school group/club undertake it as a short term project.

ICCSD library coordinator Denise Rehmke believes in the dream and planning of the project.

“Just because you dream and plan doesn’t mean it will happen. But NOT dreaming and planning means that it won’t.”
