As spring creeps up, the girls soccer team laces up their cleats this week in preparation for their first game on April 5 in a match-up against Cedar Rapids Washington in the annual Jamboree at Kingston Stadium.
“We don’t have many older players, so people who have game experience will need to step up big time,” forward Abby Schroder said.
The team returns Schroder 12’, who led the team in scoring with 15 goals, and is the focal point of the Little Hawk attack. Starting goalkeeper Caitlin Clougherty 11’ offers some consistency and leadership for the back line. Midfielder Erin Danielson 13’ and defender Maddie Schroder 13’ provide valuable experience in the middle of the field.
The Little Hawks finished last season 6-12 overall and 4-8 in the MVC.
