As the City High girls track team ran their victory lap they couldn’t help but smile as they watched the Iowa City West High girls team pack-up and leave, without the Forwald/Coleman title for the first time in six years and shedding a few tears in defeat.
City High claimed five individual titles, leading the way was Rebecca Rethwisch 11′ who won the 1,500 and 3,000. Other winners were Claire Crew in the 400, Meg Richardson in the 800, Emily Sotelo in the 400 hurdles. City High claimed the title with a team score of 176, while West was runner-up with 160, West Des Moines Valley claimed third with 121.
