With new video equipment, software and a sound mixing studio there is a new space for students to create.

“Principal Bacon thought it would be cool,” Jeff Morris, City High Librarian, said.

In the past libraries were used primarily for reading books. Morris and Bacon brought in the Makerspace  to keep students productive and still letting them use creativity. Students can now use the equipment to make videos, podcast, or songs for their entertainment.

If a student feels spontaneous and wants to try something new, the Makerspace is open to anyone, even if they have no prior knowledge of the technology and equipment. Morris states that students are free to “explore the option.”

With technology constantly progressing, it was logical to give students the opportunity to release their creative side.
