Final Band Concert Honors Seniors and Mr. Arp

The final band concert of the year and senior night was May 3rd at 7:30 p.m. Additionally, it was jazz and symphony band teacher Mr. Arp’s last concert at City High before he transfers to Liberty High to become the head band director.
“I’m glad that he has found something that he loves to do,” Michelle Jennings ‘17 said. “It’s weird that he’s leaving the same time as all of us.”
Traditionally, all seniors from Symphony Band and Wind Ensemble stand and play a solo during “Stars and Stripes” to end the show.
“It’s strange to be performing it,” Jennings said. “I’ve watched other seniors play it every year, and it’s crazy being the ones to do it now.”
Jennings has mixed emotions about her final concert at City High.
“I’m excited and sad at the same time. I’ll probably cry tonight.”
