City High’s adaptation of J.M. Barrie’s Peter Pan will premiere Friday night in Opstad Auditorium. The confident cast had their fair share of challenges.
Many cast members had to learn how to engage in convincing swordfights, while others had to train with many types of weapons.
“I had to learn how to shoot a bow and arrow, and it took me so long to learn!” Said Perez.
Challenges also moved beyond weapons to the telling of the classic story.
“It’s a story that is relatable to everyone. It appeals to everyone.” Alex Perez, ‘13 said.
On the stage boasts one of the most grandiose sets built at City High.
“The set looks really good! It’s been a difficult run, but it’s worth the payoff. Everyone gets along with each other really well, not too much drama,” Perez said.
Peter Pan opens Friday night at 7:30, followed by two shows on Saturday at 2:00 and 7:30, and finally Sunday at 2:00.
“People should go see it because everyone knows the story, and it’s a classic,” Jason Arnold ’13 said.
