LH: What’s the best part of the job?

JM: The cookies are great, the monster bars are great; we get the broken ones. And just working with a bunch of fun girls!

LH: What can students do to makes you job easier?

JM: Say hello, I guess, or when we have run out of something you were counting on if you could be more forgiving. That’s the biggest thing; to be more understanding if we mess up.

LH: What’s the best experience you’ve had on the job?

JM: To interact with students is just so fun. One student came up to me, he came up in the line and I said ‘put in your number.’ And so this one young man came to put in his number and and he goes, ‘you know you always ask me for my number but you never call me up for a date.’ And me being an older lady and him being a younger student I just laughed. It was so cute, so I think joking with the kids is the best.

LH: What is it like working at City High?

JM: It’s like a family–you get irritated with people they get irritated with you but we all laugh and work hard together.

LH: What is the hardest part of the job?

JM: Getting up early in the morning. I go to Longfellow breakfast, and then Tate, and then here. Yeah, that would be the hardest for me.

LH: What part of your job do you find most challenging?

JM: Keeping a positive attitude is a challenge because different things happen and it’s no one’s fault.
