Following the walkout that occurred on Monday to protest gun control laws, Students Against School Shootings (SASS) is holding a letter-writing session after school, on Thursday, February 22nd, in the commons.

“Students were complaining at the walk out that it’s not enough action, that more needs to be done, and that’s what we’re doing.” said Bihotza James-Lejarcegui ’18. “We’re reaching out and making our voices heard in the most direct way possible.”

Students will be writing letters and making calls to Iowa’s representatives in an attempt to get representatives make gun control laws more restrictive in response to the Florida school shooting.

Students are welcome to attend, and supplies for letters are free. SASS members will be available to guide students while they contact their elected officials.
