To Ms. Lewers, my guide to surviving High School…

Adjusting from Middle School to High School was incredibly rough. I can’t describe it. This last year has been even rougher. Which is why I am writing this article. I want to thank Ms. Lewers for helping me adjust and thrive in City High School over the past two years. She helped me in Learning Support (though she also teaches Science) and stepped up to the plate when I needed her most, and she didn’t even have to. She’s done an unbelievable amount of things for me. From helping me keep my grades up to allowing me to come to her if something was stressing me out really badly.

I remember how during late January this year I was in one of the worst places of my life. I wasn’t even getting good enough grades to pass second try, I had family-related issues, and even though it wasn’t really bad, I was depressed and down. She noticed how down I was one day, and took me aside. She consoled me, asked me what was wrong, let me explain what happened and let me say what I had to say about what was going on. Being able to vent my frustration to someone and ask for help really helped lighten my mood that day, and I gotta be honest, just simply thanking Ms. Lewers in an article won’t do enough of a justice for how much she’s helped me ever since Freshman year. If it weren’t for her, I would’ve probably dropped out of City High months ago, or worse. Lewers is by my favorite teacher for all these reasons, and was there for me even when my parents couldn’t show up.

So, Thank you Christine Lewers. Thank you for everything for the past two years and for all your help and guidance, and even though I probably won’t be in any of your classes next year, I’ll make sure I still keep in touch with you. I will never forget all that you did for me, and because of you I can safely say that despite all of my troubles, everything turned out alright in the end.

Once again, Thank you.
