The first meet of the season, and City High is already out-swimming the competition. City won 121-64 against Dubuque Hempstead, with City’s junior varsity winning 76.5-52.5.

“The first meet of the season is one of the best because the pressure is low,” Avery Wilson ‘20 said. “We all focus on doing our best and having fun.”

This year the team has more members than ever before. Zane Hugo, head coach of the Little Hawks, said he is excited for all the new and returning members joining the team.

“It’s always fun to go to these kinds of meets and cheer for the team,” Wilson said. “It’s exciting to see where we’ll go this season.”
