On Tuesday, the No. 3 Little Hawks girls volleyball team will face The West High Trojans in The Battle of the Spike. The girls are looking for redemption from last year, when they lost to West High three times, including once in the state championship game.
“We want to redeem ourselves from last year and show the state why we’re one of the top ranked teams,” Co-Captain Mickey Hansche ’13 said. “We want to bring the Spike back home.”
While inner-city rivalries always bring an added intensity, The Little Hawks are preparing for the game the same way they always do.
“If we can dictate the tempo and play our game, we will be ok,” Assistant coach Tricia Carty said.
The sophomore game starts at 5:30 in the main gym at West High. The varsity game will start around 7:15.
