4th Ave. Wins Big at Prairie Premiere

4th Avenue Jazz Company went to the first competition of the season Saturday, January 5, where they won the Grand Championship, defeating prestigious groups such as Cedar Rapids Jefferson and Xavier, as well as winning the award for Best Band. David Maize ’13 received the award for Best Male Soloist, and Sam Rahn ’14 won Best Instrumentalist. This victory gave 4th Ave. the rank of 5th in the nation. City Lights also performed, and won 3rd Runner up.

4th Ave. and City Lights will travel to the Linn Mar Supernova competition next weekend, January 12, and compete against an even larger group of Show Choirs.
