Day One

Sunday, March 13:

We were lucky to arrive on such a sunny day, when the sun glinted off of the Queen Victoria Memorial. We exited the underground onto the grounds of Green Park and within a few minutes of walking, we were granted a clear view of Buckingham Palace. This is a must see to all history buffs and those who take an interest in British government. We then took a walking tour down The Mall towards Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery,

where we spent the rest of the daylight gazing at Van Gogh’s Sunflowers and Michelangelo’s master works. Dinner was spent at The Slug and Lettuce, where we all celebrated fellow tourist Estlin Dillard ‘17, seventeenth birthday. We ate traditional sausage and mashed potatoes with ice cream on waffles for dessert.
