Family movies for the summer

Rio 2 Amazon Adventure was recently released this past April. Directed by Carlos Saldanha ( who also directed the movies Ice Age, Ice Age: dawn of the dinosaurs and the melt down, as well as Robots) casting Anne Hathaway and Jesse Eisenberg as the main characters Jewel and Blu, along with other well known actors such as Tracy Morgan, Will i am, George Lopez, Jamie Foxx, and Bruno Mars to name a few. Rio 2 is a well made family movie that shows the bond between families and with the people you love.

Rio 2 is a continuation of Blu and Jewel’s new life. In this movie though it brings out the difficulties that each one has in adapting to the others way of life as well as trying to get their new family to not get too comfortable with having human things. Later when they discover that they are not the only Blu spix’s macaws left, Jewel is highly motivated to help find the macaws and takes the family along with Blu to the Amazon. For Jewel the wild is where she is comfortable, while for Blu it is a place where he feels out of place. The writer shows the contrasts between the two pair by putting them in the places they are least comfortable. The movie does a good job of allowing you to understand what each character is going through as if it were a family.

Meeting the new characters fun to see because each new character brings something new with them. The actors have a great way of bringing out each character’s unique perspective to the movie. The actors are able to show how each person’s thoughts about humans and the experience they’ve had. The animation was well done though at the beginning when they had more people, the people did not look as realistic as the rest of the movie.

In all the movie was well made and fit well with the first one. It’s a great movie to watch with all the family, especially with younger siblings. The music has a great beat to dance to whenever it comes on.
