If someone told me when I was younger that I would be playing tennis in high school instead of baseball I would tell you that you were out of your mind, but now I’m out on the tennis courts every day after school.

The reason I am is because of my coach, Chip Hardesty. Chip Hardesty is out there every day rain or shine ready to coach anybody that comes to him. Chip has been the coach for over a decade and is nearing the age of 83 but nothing can stop him from doing what he loves. Many teachers and coaches would be sitting on their couch reading the news and living out the rest of their days in retirement but  Chip has never stopped teaching kids how to play tennis and how to get better. Recently, Chip had open heart surgery but the next week he was out back on the courts passing his skills down to the next generation of tennis players. My tennis career would be nowhere without Chip and I don’t think I would still be playing if Chip wasn’t there.
