City Faces Burlington For Third District Game

The Little Hawk football team (1-5) will be busing to Burlington to take on the Greyhounds (3-3) for their third district game.

The Rundown:  Coming off of their first win, The Little Hawks prepare for Friday where they will take on Burlington High School on October 10, 2014.

Friday’s game will start the 3rd week of district play in the state of Iowa.  The Little Hawk sare now (1-5).

Burlington is currently (0-2) in the district after coming off a close loss (25-21) to Davenport Central.

The Little Hawks pulled off their first win last week against Prairie (27-23)  thanks to a late touchdown run by RB Michael Fredieu ‘15 to improve their district record to (1-1).

In the backfield for Burlington is #28 Garrett Grimshaw, who has 68 rushing attempts for a total of 646 yards.  Averaging 9.5 yards a carry, Grimshaw, along with #7 QB Jonathan Langerued, lead the team with 7 touchdowns apiece.

In Burlington’s passing game, Langerued has made 33 attempts at pass, managing a 43.4% completion rate which is just under City High’s sophomore QB #15 Nate Wieland, whose 80 pass attempts this season have resulted in a 50.6% completion rate.

On defense, the Little Hawks are led by #4 Erick Fletcher who has 34 solo tackles for the 14’-15’ season while the Greyhounds are led by #51 Brady Eland who has 21 solo tackles so far.
