After winning their first regional game (3-1) against Burlington, The Little Hawks face Prairie in their second regional game today at  Linn-Mar. The team that wins the most sets out of five is the team that will be advancing onto the State Championship.

“I think the entire team feels pretty confident about this game because in practice this week, we’ve kind of changed our mindset; we’ve realized that it’s actually the end of the season and we need to start really thinking about going to state,” Shannon James ‘17 said.

Although the City High volleyball team won 3 sets out of 5 against Prairie already this year, the team is still anxious with Prairie’s Kate Busswitz who leads the team with 252 kills and a serve success of 265 serves. City High will put up a tough fight with Alexa Aldrich-Ingram ‘17 who leads the team with 258 kills and a serve success of 316 serves.

Tonight’s game starts at 7 p.m. and the theme is black out. A bus filled with City High students, leaving at 5:30, will travel to Linn-Mar to cheer on the team.
