After a tough ending to their regular season, the Little Hawks were determined to take City High to the state tournament. The Little Hawks took on the Clinton River Kings on Friday night during the second round of the sub state playoffs. After a hard fought game, the River Kings ended up taking the game with a final score of 60-55.

Henry Mulligan ‘15 led the Little Hawks in scoring with a total of 15 points, nine of those coming from behind the three point line. Sophomore, Chuck Johnson, played well on both sides of the court with ten points, eight rebounds and two blocks.

Going into the second half, the Little Hawks could not stay out of foul trouble. Though nobody fouled out of the game, Jason Jones ‘16, Nate Wieland ‘17 and Micah Martin ‘16 all had four personal fouls. As a team, the Little Hawks had a combined total of 22 team fouls throughout the game.

Though the fast paced offense along with the 24 free throws Clinton had proved to be too much for the Little Hawks, City High played a hard game all four quarters but could not finish it out as Clinton took the win 60-55.
