City High held the lead at the end of every quarter, but it was a close game nonetheless.

The Little Hawks got the tip, but it was the Trojans who came out ahead in the game’s first minutes, with a three point lead.

Nile Ringen ’16 put up City’s first points with a three-point floater to respond to bring it to 6-3 five minutes into the quarter. Ringen, Micah Martin ’16, Naeem Smith ’17, and Jason Jones ’16 started on an 11 point run that put the Little Hawks in good positioning by the end of the first half.

The second quarter was much slower, and inaccuracy plagued both teams.

The Little Hawks held a 15 point lead at the half, 30-15. In the third, the Trojans came back strong, at one point closing the game to two points.

The Little Hawks kept up their lead, however, and in the final two quarters, through free-throws and increased fouling from the Trojans, City managed to win with a five point lead.
