With Susanna Gianola ’16 out, the girls tennis team’s match-ups did not turn out as planned.

“It was hard to overcome the roster change up,” Lucy Wagner ’17 said.

Down its number 2 player, the women’s squad were required to shift their players up one position. The meet ended 1-8 against the #2 ranked Linn-Mar.

While the girls went up against Linn-Mar at City, the boys battled the Lions in Marion. Close matches ended the meet with the boys team losing by a score of 4-5.

“Definitely a winnable meet, disappointed we came away with the loss. However, there are a lot of positives to take away from the meet looking forward,” Max Gruber ’16 said.

The boys varsity team is currently 1-1, after previously beating Prairie.
