X-Men Apocalypse

X-Men+Apocalypse

With each new trailer for X-Men Apocalypse, my excitement for the movie grows. The most recent one came out on April 25th.

I honestly have never been so excited for a movie before in my life. I grew up watching X-Men movies, and my love for them was renewed when Days of Future Past was released in 2014. My only beef with this movie is that Sophie Turner plays Jean Grey. Personally, I don’t think this character has ever been justice in a film, and it seems that they are continuing that trend. I’m sure she’s an okay person, but I just don’t think Turner is that great of an actor.

One of my favorite X-Men characters, other than Azazel and Riptide, is Magneto- aka Erik Lehnsherr, aka Max Eisenhardt. His story-line is intense and heart wrenching- complete with a tragic and horrible past which consists of his parents being killed in front of him in a concentration camp. This movie seems to continue the trend of Erik just having the worst luck of any person ever. The trailer alludes to his new family being killed and him persuaded/brainwashed to join Apocalypse in his mission to destroy the world. Although, it finally reveals that true to the comics, Quicksilver is his son. And as always, he seems to be the comic relief.

Now only if Azazel was still alive so that he could meet his son, Nightcrawler.
