The Lion King Remake Just Found Timon & Pumbaa

Orson Codd, Reporter

Disney’s “The Lion King is known as one of the most classic animated films of all time. So when it was announced that the director of 2016’s “The Jungle Book”, Jon Favreau, was going to make a live-action version of the film, fans went crazy with excitement.

It was announced Wednesday evening that Billy Eichner & Seth Rogen have been cast to play the two iconic characters: Timon & Pumbaa. Eichner will be playing Timon, while Rogen will be playing Pumbaa.

This choice seems perfect because both actors seem to represent the characters they will be portraying.

Granted, a few t’s and i’s still need to be crossed and dotted. But it seems pretty accurate that Disney has chosen those two actors.

The film will also star Donald Glover (Childish Gambino) as Simba, James Earl Jones will reprise his role as King Mufasa and Beyoncé is in talks to play Nala.

“The Lion King” will be released on July 19, 2019.
