After holding off a late comeback attempt, the Little Hawk men’s soccer team triumphed over Dubuque Senior 2-1 in Monday’s game.

“We did a good job adapting to how they played, which is a good sign because in the past we’ve had trouble doing that,” Temesgen Schumm ’20 said. “We did a good job dropping on their long throw ins and having our forwards stay on their deep center back.”

In the first half, Rasmus Schlutter ’17 finished a ball that the Golden Eagle’s keeper fumbled in the box. The Eagles came back in the second half with a goal of their own, but late in the game Daniel Echa ’17 secured a win for City with a header in the box.

After this victory, the Little Hawks move on to play the 2-9 Dubuque Hempstead Mustangs this Friday on their home field.
