BREAKING: Student MLK Sign Up on SCHED Goes Live

Online registration through SCHED for activities celebrating the life of Martin Luther King Jr. was opened for students today during advisory.

Students can select their desired activities and events by clicking on the session icon. Sessions will range from student-led discussions about topics such as immigration, to movies such as Marvel’s Black Panther and the documentary Dolores, which will focus on the activism of Dolores Huerta. Students should select two hours of activity for the morning, and two hours for the afternoon.

Student Diversity and Equity Council member Millie Garcia ‘21 has been meeting every Monday to help plan the event.

“Our sessions are discussions. One is about immigration, and one is about the civil rights movement,” Garcia said. “Students will talk about things like immigration and civil rights, which we don’t normally talk about in-depth in class. It’s nice to talk about something for longer than a short twenty minutes.”

Martin Luther King Jr. Day will be held nationally on January 21. Selections must be completed before Friday. Students looking to sign up can use this link and create a Sched account.
