RISE Begins Collaboration with The Black Leaders Institute

RISE has begun to work with The Black Leaders Institute at Iowa. They plan to do some collaborating in the near future.

“One project that they introduced to us was doing a video where students, mostly minority students, talk about their experiences in the education system. We’re also going to try to attend more of each others’ meetings to try and build that alliance,” Mariam Keita ’20 said.

RISE continues to meet on Tuesdays after school. The meetings are open to everyone.

“RISE for me is a community. I have all my friends there who are also academically motivated, so it’s a lovely community,” said Cecile Bendera ’20.
