After weeks of bad weather, City High womens tennis swings into the season beginning on Monday March 12th. With practices prior to the season being consistently cancelled and delayed, City High womens tennis has had a rough start to the season.

“Not having any practice prior to yesterday means we will have to practice harder to get the team back up to speed,” Abby McCormick ‘21 said. “And running practice inside on the indoor courts can quickly get expensive.”

Last year City High varsity girls competed hard and defeated Prairie High School finishing second in there annual conference meet. With leading players Caroline Carter ‘20,  Kelsey Lae ‘20, and Irene Samuelson ‘19 they then went on to regionals the following week giving hope to this year’s season. With the warming weather, City High tennis should be back on track in time for their first meet Tuesday, April 3 at Linn-Mar High School.
