As the season comes to an end, junior varsity and sophomore wrestlers competed on Saturday morning February 8 at their home tournament against schools such as Prairie, Linn-Mar, and Waterloo East.

“It’s been good so far. We’ve really developed which is nice to see. We got a lot of young guys and [we are] just getting them experienced on what they need to know right now,” said Coach Shultz.

Junior varsity wrestler Kale Clark ‘22 believes he and his teammates have had a good season so far. For Clark, staying focused and not getting out of control during his matches helped him prepare for this tournament. He hopes to come in for wrestling camps over the summer to improve for next year.

“[Getting] more awareness and knowing when to do certain things when to get that wrestling knowledge would help us a lot. Hopefully, they will make an impact next year and keep it going,” said Coach Shultz.
