ICCSD Returns to Online Schedule Due to Pandemic Spike

As City High returns to off-site learning, the schedule will mirror the beginning of the school year.

During a school board meeting on November 9, it was decided that the Iowa City School District would switch to all-online school in response to Johnson County’s 16% positivity rate. This switch will take place on Monday, November 16, and will mimic the schedule that was followed for the first two weeks of the school year.

Students will return to the alternating schedule of synchronous and asynchronous classes. Monday and Wednesday mornings will be dedicated to Zoom classes. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, Zoom classes will take place in the afternoon. Time outside of class will be used for asynchronous classwork and projects. Fridays will be dedicated to check-ins and work time for students.

As the COVID-19 positivity rate spikes, students will stay off-site until it is safe to go back to school.
