Indie-Pop’s most prominent female artist continues her 80s inspired sound in her new single, “Love Me More”. Mitski has released a new song from her upcoming album “Laurel Hell”, which is expected to be released in just 23 days. After her long hiatus and break from social media, this album cannot come soon enough. The fourth song to be released on the album came out this morning and deserves a spot on your playlist.

A video was also released for this single, featuring Mitski in a full-body cast, on the road on a motorcycle, and singing like Isabella Rossellini in Blue Velvet. The cherry on top is Mitski’s energetic dancing and bright colors that make it clear she is committed to being an Indie pop icon and is past her “Puberty 2” days.

The wide range of influences in this album shows Mitski’s versatility and brilliance. “Love Me More” has a Euro-pop feel, with lyrics reminiscent of her hit song “Nobody” from her last album “Be The Cowboy”. Mitski doesn’t disappoint with this new single, but it still is not my favorite out of the ones released. “Heat Lightning” and “Working For The Knife” still are my favorite singles so far, with Velvet Underground influences. I have high hopes for this album since she has had several years to work on it.
