The City High Cheer team is hosting a popcorn and cup fundraiser to raise money for new uniforms and to cover competition fees.

Throughout their 10 month long season the team cheers at football games, basketball games, and wrestling meets while practicing twice a week. They normally start practicing for football season in March and April of the previous school year and their season ends in February of the current year.

The team hopes to be able to buy new uniforms and pay competition fees with the donations. They got their first new uniforms in six years and haven’t gone to competitions since 2018.

“With the fundraiser, I am hoping that we make enough money for competition cheer and new uniforms for the new girls that just joined and that don’t have the black uniforms,” Aminatha Rukakiza ‘25 says.

The fundraiser is until January 31st and you can click the link here to check out what they are selling or to make a donation.
