Six City High Varsity swimmers competed at the 2022 IHSAA State Swimming Meet on February 11th, 2022. Swimmers Will Larson ’22, Joe Polyak ’24, John Weigel ’23, Kento Yahashiri ’23, Chase Loftus ’22, Charlie Pfohl ’24, James Kardos ’24, and Grayson Wills ’23 all swam.

The team competed against 34 other teams from around the state and finished in a respectable thirteenth place. The swimmers really showed off their hard work and drive, with many PRs this season. Especially Charlie Pfohl ’24, who knocked two seconds off of his time in the 100-yard freestyle. After his race Charlie said, ” Being stuck around the 54-55 second range all year, then managing to drop down to 53 seconds, then to 51 seconds, felt as good as it gets”. In closing, the boys’ swim team had a very successful season with numerous top placings in both dual and multi-team meets.
