PLAYERS TO WATCH:

After reaching 1,000 career kills this past week against Iowa City Liberty, Claire Ernst ‘24 is a major part of City High’s offense. With dominating performances on both offense and defense, her stats are only going to go up.

Throughout this season, Kaitlin Loria ‘27 has been a vital asset for the varsity team. Picking up 6 solo blocks and 23 blocks this season, Loria has been unstoppable on defense. She will be a key player in the tournament and the post-season for City High.

If you were to ask who keeps the defense going, the answer would be Jessi Kucera ‘26. With 99 digs on the season, she is the glue that keeps the team running. Currently, Kucera has 16 aces and a 91.6% efficiency, it will be fun to see where those statistics go tonight.

Sidney Slay ‘24 has just surpassed 1,000 career assists, an incredible achievement for our very own Little Hawk setter. Keep an eye out for more of her amazing assists at the tournament tonight.

MVC RECAP:

#11 5A Iowa City High, is 2nd in the MVC-Valley Conference. They will go up against Iowa City West, #13 Dubuque Senior, and #10 3A Wahlert Catholic tonight. The opener of this tournament against Iowa City West looks to be a promising game for the Little Hawks after a 3-0 sweep last week.

After a major tournament win this past weekend in Bettendorf, Iowa City High. Winning all 5 games, the Little Hawks claimed the #1 spot at the tournament. The Little Hawks are looking very strong, improving more every game.

Tickets are available at the door.
