10 tips to help you to not only get ready, but to feel ready for the day

We don’t gatekeep, so here are our favorite tips and tricks for getting ready in the morning.

  1. The key to feeling your best starts with the night before. Your first step is to get a good night of sleep, ranging from six to ten hours. This will help you feel refreshed and rejuvenated, and prepare you for your upcoming activities.
  2. Set your alarm, and give yourself time. You don’t want to feel rushed in the morning. Allow yourself time to wake up, and take in the light of day.
  3. Wake up, and drink water! Hydration is not only beneficial for your physical health, but your mental health as well.
  4. Get some morning movement! Whether it’s a 10 minute stretch or a run, when you get your body moving, you will feel better throughout the day.
  5. One of our favorite steps in our morning routines is our skin care routines. It is so important to find the products that work for your skin. Start with a cleanser of your choice, followed by a toner, moisturizer, and sunscreen. This is the perfect base for a glowy everyday look. On top of the sunscreen, we recommend Aquaphor on your eyelashes and cheek bones for some extra moisture!
  6. It’s important to feel confident in your academic environment, and research has proven that students who feel better in their own body and style have shown improvement in testing scores! Not only does your outfit make that possible but a big part of loving yourself is your hair! In the mornings, scroll on Pinterest for some cute, simple, and unique hairstyles that make you feel confident within yourself. It could be as simple as a braid, but your hair is a HUGE factor in confidence, so make time for yourself to feel good!
  7. One of our favorite steps is our outfit. But it gets hard through the school year to continue to mix and match clothes to make to avoid rewearing outfits! A tip (listed above) is to make time the night before to pick out something YOU feel good in! In the mornings, when we don’t give ourselves enough time and we have to rush to find something, we end up going with something we wore earlier that week, which makes us feel lazy and we end up not having as much of a confident self image as we were hoping. To give yourself that I feel good today smile, give yourself plenty of time to set yourself up for success mentally and physically every day!
  8. Forgetting your charger, computer, or homework is the worst feeling! Check you have everything the night before an important morning. Be sure to charge your computer, organize your folders, and check off those assignments on your to do list! Feeling put together and organized is crucial for feeling prepared for your academic success! Double check your stuff right before you leave, make sure you have everything the morning of, zip that bag up and get ready to slay the day!
  9. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. DON’T skip it! I know making breakfast can be stressful and time consuming, so set yourself up for success. If you can try your best to meal prep the night before or even the Sunday night before the week. Pinterest has lots of meal prepping breakfast ideas that you can make for some delicious and nutritious eats before your big day.
  10. Be on time! This is SO important for feeling relaxed and prepared for the day. Rushing in the mornings is no fun! It causes stress and anxiety that often do not go away until the day is over. Sacrifice those extra twenty minutes of laying in bed in the mornings, for a well rounded, calm, and stress free morning. Driving safely to school is the MOST important, and if you are rushing, those thoughts of carefulness go away just to be on time to class, which is very dangerous. Have your stuff prepared ahead of time so you don’t have to rush getting ready, eating a healthy breakfast, driving to school, and giving yourself unnecessary stress. Be on top of your morning, it’s up to you!
