Tessa Driscoll ‘26 is heading into the season, having just recently committed to the University of St. Thomas to continue her academic and athletic careers. She plans to study English and/or literature. As Driscoll heads into her final season as a Little Hawk before becoming a Tommie, she hopes to continue growing as a person both on and off the basketball court.
“Basketball has always been a huge part of my life. I’ve grown as a person and a teammate. I hope to continue to grow as a leader. I’ve been a captain for a couple of years now, and I hope that this year I can keep being someone that people can look up to and come to for advice,” Driscoll said.
The Little Hawks’ first day of practice is coming sooner than ever, starting November 10th, and they have many open gyms and scrimmages to prepare for this date. Driscoll hopes that this recent commitment will help her throughout the season as an athlete.
“My commitment hasn’t really changed my confidence, but it has been a huge relief to have the recruiting process come to an end. It can be really stressful talking to coaches, and I am relieved to know where I’m going so I can focus on just playing and having fun my senior season,” Driscoll said.
Driscoll went through a long recruiting process.
“I started getting recruited freshman year, and it just increased after that. Talking to coaches and deciding what place is best for you can be difficult, but I encourage everyone not to rush themselves and find the right fit,” Driscoll said.
Driscoll has many reasons for her commitment to the University of St. Thomas.
“I committed to St. Thomas because of the people and environment there. I love the coaching staff, and the players are super welcoming. They also have a beautiful campus, and I think I can get an excellent education there. When I visited, it felt like home.”
