The Iowa Hawkeyes will face one of their biggest games of the year as a Big Ten titan, #6 Oregon, at home with FOX Big Noon Sunday setting up camp on the Pentacrest.
DO THE HAWKS HAVE A CHANCE?
While Oregon is favored by -6.5, the Hawkeyes have good reason to be optimistic; they nearly beat the Big Ten darling, Indiana, at Kinnick earlier in the year, a team the Ducks lost to.
In fact, excluding said Indiana game, the Hawkeyes have been on a 5-game winning streak with dominant performances against rivals like Minnesota and Wisconsin, and they are also coming off a bye week.
That said, Oregon is also coming off a relaxing bye week, and they’re still the # 6 team in the country. The Hawkeyes currently stand at 6-2, and Oregon currently stands at 7-1. The over-under is predicted to be 40.5.
Not only will this be the first time these two teams face each other in conference play, and the first time they have played each other at all in over 30 years.
Iowa nor Oregon have beaten many good teams. In the end, Oregon has more fire power and will edge the Hawkeyes.
