The war in Ukraine has entered a critical stretch. As of November 23rd, 2025, Russia has made some of the most profound land gains on the front lines of this entire war, Donald Trump has issued a 28(later 19)-point peace deal, Russian drones continuing to fly over Europe and their skies, there are secret talks in Abu Dhabi and Geneva, and (empty) threats of nuclear warfare. It seems that in the next 3 months, peace will come or Ukraine will capitulate. These are the most important days of the Ukraine war since early 2022.
RUSSIA´S INCREDIBLE PUSH ON THE FRONTLINES
The Russian army has made significant gains across all fronts over the last four months. Since May, the Russians have advanced approximately 2,779.9 km, finally winning the crucial battle of Chasiv Yar in July(after a year and, like, 80,000 corpses) as well as winning the battle of Kursk (the Ukrainian invasion of Russia) and pushing through forests and fields, until they began to threaten the key Ukrainian fortress city of Pokvorosk, as well as its sister city of Mrnohard, in August. Heavy house-by-house fighting permeated throughout the city. Eventually, Russia took control of the railways, enabling the capture of the town. Despite more resistance in the north of the town at the end of the day, Russia won one of the costliest battles of this war. As for Mrnohard, the fighting there took bit longer to conclude, but eventually, Russia diminished
the sector to that of a salient, the Ukrainians lost and began to withdraw(however, thanks to the galaxy-brain idiots over at Ukrainian high command the road of withdrawal was so convoluted that it’s estimated that only 35% of their forces actually made it out before encirclement on Nov 25). Over to the north in Kupyansk, the battle raged for months as Ukrainian forces from both the left and the right continued desperately (and futilely) to relieve the city. Ultimately, the city still fell to the Russians. To the south, in Kherson and Hulyaipole, the Russians launched a massive offensive, sweeping past miles upon miles of Ukrainian defenses, eventually entering Kherson. Although these two cities have yet to fall, they are almost certainly about to. These are humongous victories for the Russian army. Not only have they captured multiple Ukrainian Fortress cities all along the front (some more important than others), but they have also enabled them to invade the neighboring Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia Oblasts.
THE PEACE
On November 21, United States President Donald Trump and his advisor Steve Witkoff issued a 28(19)-point peace plan (as per American Political tradition, he made this extremely important and delicate decision without consulting or even mentioning it to a soul in Congress). But what does the 28-point piece plan entail? (Keep in mind, I will only talk about the most important points) As per points 1 and 11, Ukraine will not only have its independence guaranteed, but it will also be eligible for EU membership. On top of that, committees will be established to rebuild Ukraine after the war. However, Ukraine will have to hold elections 100 days after the war, and its armed forces will be limited. On top of that, NATO will not station troops in Ukraine, but they will build up troops in nearby Poland. Russia will be reintegrated into the world Economy by joining(again) the G8 and heavy investment from the USA. Finally, all Russian-controlled territories along the line of contact will be under de facto Russian control. Neither side liked the peace at first, but by November 25th, Ukraine agreed to the plan, with Russia seemingly open to it. In my opinion, this was one of the best pieces we could have gotten since Trump is an asshole, but this is one of the best ways to find peace in the region, especially with how dire the military situation has gotten for the Ukrainians. It remains to be seen if Russia will agree to this; after all, they’re succeeding on the battlefield. Why submit now? Hopefully, they will. Recently, after extensive conversations in Geneva, the United States and Ukraine are seemingly both happy with how dialogue is proceeding, lowering the 28 points to 19 of now though the war is anything but. Until it does, more tragedy will be inflicted on Ukraine, Russia, Europe, and indeed the rest of the world. For the sake of sanity, let’s hope the peace plan goes through, but we will probably have to wait A BIT.
