Preston Mensah ‘27 has been a three-year varsity football starter for City High. The Little Hawks are coming off of a 2-7 season.
“We are looking to have a drastically better year!” Preston said.
To see the improvements on the field, Preston believes everyone on the team needs to come together.
“I feel like one of the major problems last year is that there wasn’t much communication or vocal leadership, so I think if we can just fix the small stuff, we should be set up perfectly for this year,” Preston said.
Another star player for City High football is Coden Kurtz ‘28. Coden plays both sides of the ball and rotates at many skill positions.
“We as a whole team need to have more detail over the summer,” Coden said.
Preston also believes in the details and leadership needed this next summer.
“I could impact the team by being more of a leader for the whole team, I feel as if I was only the oline leader instead of the whole,” Preston said.
Coden also believes in the importance of playing multiple positions on the field.
“Playing different positions is one of my strong suits, because I know every play and where to be in different situations,” Coden said.
Heading into the summer City High football has fifteen plus transfer three-star running back Savion Miller.
