Last night, the Little Hawks played their third match of the regular season against the Liberty Lightning. Going into the game, City has defeated Liberty four straight times, and looked to extend it to a fifth. Early in the match, Liberty drew first blood as they scored on a penalty kick. With a few minutes remaining in the half, Will Lang-Fallon ’28 tapped in a goal off a free kick to even it up 1-1 going into halftime. In the second half, it was all City High as they dominated on Liberty’s end of the field, scoring two goals off penalty kicks from Oscar Gates ’26 and Colin Riley ’27. The Little Hawks won the game 3-1 to improve to a 2-0-1 record on the season. Their next games are on Saturday, April 18th against Waukee Northwest and Urbandale in a doubleheader for the Valley Invite.
