City High’s second annual Winter Formal, Yule Ball, was cancelled due to, ironically, snow. Zoë Butler ‘18 is a member of the Dance Committee who spent 10 hours and $300 decorating the City High cafeteria.

“It was very disappointing when we got the call that the roads were getting too rough to have the dance because Student Senate and students had gotten very excited. The kids worked very hard, and we spent 10 hours putting it up. As a solution we are hoping to combine the Snow Ball with the dance marathon after break,” said Butler.

Student president Lucy Wagner is working hard to reschedule and accommodate to other conflicts this winter.

“We are all disappointed and hope the dance will be rescheduled soon. It is nice that Mr. Bacon cares so much about our safety. He promised to help set up the dance next time,” said Wagner.

An official rescheduled date is yet to be determined.
