As prom approaches on May 3rd, planning for the dance is wrapping up. All that’s left is ticket sales and decorations. Tickets won’t be available at the door, so the last time to buy them will be on May 2nd in the cafeteria.
“Nobody can buy tickets at the door is the deal. They don’t want people just bolting in. We’ll make sure Mr. Bacon announces that, and because of this we’ll likely sell to at least Friday after school and maybe Thursday after school,” Steve Tygrett said.
As prom planning finishes up, Student Senate’s main focus has moved to elections. The applications to be a presidential candidate are due at the end of the day on May 1st, the same day in-school campaigning can start. As of April 29th, two applications have been submitted: Alma Bhandary-Narayanan and Toe Collins; Amal Eltayib and Claire Locher.
“The election day is set for Tuesday May 20th during 3rd period.” Tygrett said.
