Chemistry teacher Nicole Scott performs the “breathing fire” demonstration by blowing Lycopodium powder through a Bunsen burner flame. “The powder is extremely fine and flammable, so it combusts quickly and releases a lot of heat,” Scott said. “My goal was for students to see a clear example of a chemical change. Abigail Burns '26, Grace Hamann '27, Eliza Doster '28, Nicole Peterson '25, and Nina Peterson '25 also earned All-District with places 6th, 8th, 11th, 12th, and 13th. The boys team finished with 41 points. Linus McRoberts podiumed, placing 2nd. Max McDowell '26, Emmet Palmberg '27, and George Karr '25 also earned All-District with places 5th, 8th, and 9th.
