The Iowa City Animal Care and Adoption Center has now become an utopia for cat and dog lovers a like. Located at 3910 Napoleon Lane in Iowa City, the ICAC encourages all visitors to come in Monday through Saturday and play with adoptable cats and dogs. The Adoption center hope this will help potential owners to get to know an animal before you adopt. Additionally, they have fostering programs for some of their animals and emergency housing options in need of these services.

Located outside of Solon, Iowa, the charity organization Witty Kitty is a non-profit organization taking in and caring for cats that require specific treatments and can’t receive special help in pounds or on the streets. Not only do they provide the rescue and care, they also conduct educational programs about the proper care for your everyday house pets for community organizations.  The cats in the Witty Kitty shelter came from places like farms or shelters that just couldn’t properly care for their needs.

This shelter consists of several large rooms, allowing the cats with FIV(feline immunodeficiency virus), FeLV(feline leukemia virus) and other contagious diseases to still be able to roam without the threat of spreading the sickness.

Both shelters hope to create caring, healthy environments for the animals taken in.
