Recently Snapchat came out with a new filter for I’m Against Bullying: Spirit Day.

This day was celebrated on October 15th, 2015. This day is used to show support for the LGBT+ youth community that has been bullied because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. It has been observed annually since 2010, and many companies other than Snapchat participated this year including Target, The NFL, Google, Chobani, American Eagle, Toyota, The NBA, Twitter, and more.

Yazmine Martin ‘19 said that she feels it is appropriate for Snapchat to have this filter.

“I think it should be on Snapchat because so many people are getting bullied and a lot of people’s’ stories are hinting towards the fact that they are getting bullied, but no one seems to notice. I think it [the filter] could abolish bullying online. With that filter I feel like so many people will think before they hit that send button.”
