Saturday January 21st, Champions from previous years will get together to celebrate and reminisce about their glory days. Members from the 1992, 1999, and 2002 teams will assemble at City High during the Bean City Duals dual tournament to be recognized.

“I think about our state championship season more often now that I have kids of my own in higschool.” Greg Kindl said.

Some of these include wrestlers from the 1992 season like Jeff McGinness, Mark Mitchell, and Greg Kindl.

“It’ll be a fun time to get to talk to and see some of my former teammates I used to wrestle with.” Kindl also said.

The tournament starts at 9:00 AM in the City High gymnasiums. Teams that are invited include: Decorah, Cedar Rapids Xavier, West Des Moines Valley, Lisbon, and Keokuk.

“It’s important to our school because it’s good for the athletes and spectators to see the building blocks of the City High wrestling program.” Kindl said.
