With roars of the crowd and three quick games the volleyball team made quick work of Cedar Rapids Prairie on Monday night at City High.
“We all played pretty well and always tried to keep the lead. If we ever lost the lead, we would try and get it back right away,” Sabrina Rodgers ‘14 said.
In the end, their strategy worked to maintain control of the game winning all of the sets.
Led by seniors Michaela Nelson with 13 kills and Allison Fleming with 6 kills, the team won 25-18, 28-26, and 25-17.
“The difference was that we had more energy as a team and we played smarter and hit over and around their blocks,” Allison Fleming ‘14 said.
The Little Hawk volleyball team will advance to the Class 5A Region 4 semifinals on Thursday in Pleasant Hill against Southeast Polk.
